What Our Customers Say!
I speak every word, every syllable of truth in recognizing Florida State Roofing as a premier roofing business on behalf of the rest of the Board of Directors and Owners of our condo association on Golden Gate Point. From the Owner, to the Management, to the foreman, to the team members who toiled from dawn's early light to the final stages of the setting Sun to not only get the job done in optimal time, but they got it done perfectly. We were kept informed and updated from day to day and our contacts with the owner and management were handled with professionalism, courtesy, respect, and understanding (not to mention patience). We unreservedly and heartily recommend Florida State Roofing. They are reliable, efficient, caring, and deliver an excellent product. You can take that to the bank!
Sincerely, a satisfied customer

EXCELLENT Based on 90 reviews Katheryn TouVelle2025-02-18Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Florida State Roofing replaced my damaged roof after Milton. I am pleased with the new roof which was installed as promised by their excellent, polite, skilled and fast workers. All issues were remedied by Chuck Floyd, owner of Florida State Roofing. As a single gal I have no experience with roofing. Chuck made sure each decision was made correctly and followed up during the installation process. I would gladly recommend Chuck and his company for a worry free new roof. Ana Maria2025-02-11Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Florida State Roofing & Construction did an excellent job on replacing my shingle roof after hurricane Milton. They showed up when they said they would, and finished the roof in two days. Joel and his crew were skilled, industrious and experienced. The workers did a great job, and provided a nice looking roof when they finished. FSR owner, Chuck, was responsive to our concerns and made sure every item was addressed to our satisfaction. I would have no reservations recommending them and their work. While many roofing companies had products that were supposed to look like cedar shakes, this product was the only one that actually did look like real cedar shakes. I was actually getting compliments on my roof. We are located in south Sarasota and survived the 2 recent hurricanes with a few shingles askew. I called Chuck and he explained that he has customers with no roof or a large tree sitting atop their roof and they were his priority, which I was totally in agreement with. 5 weeks after the hurricane, he sent Victor to fix my roof at no charge. It's very reassuring to find a company that stands behind their products and is so nice to their customers. Being almost 80 years old, there will be no more new roofs installed by us, but if the need arose we would call them in an instant. I purchased a replacement roof from Chuck Floyd of Florida State Roofing in December 2009. I got several estimates. Florida State Roofing wasn't the cheapest, but Chuck seemed knowledgeable. He faxed me a warrenty sheet from Certainteed Shingles with a circle around the 4-star 15-year warranty which covered all the materials, labor and no prorating of the shingles, a certificate that identified him as a certified Certainteed approved contractor, and the contract. I agreed to pay for the additional warranty. The warranty on my contract also says *4-star 15 year warranty including labor and materials*. I signed and sent it back and paid my first installment. The roof was eventually completed, paid for and inspected by Manatee County. After the hurricane, my husband (who was a roofer for years) was on the roof and realized that the shingles were brittle, snapped like crackers, and the pebbling was missing in several places. Because my roof was still under warrenty until the end of December, I contacted Chuck Floyd immediately. Ive talked to him twice and emailed all the documents to him twice. He has emphatically denied my warrenty both times. When he felt he couldnt get around the factual documentation, he denied doing the work because he couldnt find a record. He SCREAMED at me to provide canceled checks. He told me also to file with the manufacturers as hurricane damage. He knew if I did that it would void ANY warranty. Chuck told me more than once that he wasnt going to honor my purchased warranty and neither would anyone else. So far sadly he is right. When you buy a car and pay for an additional warranty and the engine blows up two month before the warranty runs out, do you expect the dealer to honor it? I bet your answer is yes. I contacted Certainteed and my warranty was never registered by Florida State Roofing. Certainteed said to file a claim any way. The problem is I need to spend money to get a contractor to document their requirements. What contractor, now, in this area, is going to stop and document anything about another contractors work? They aren't even answering their own phones. On the contract, it also says GAF under shingle and 30 years. I thought GAF was a Certainteed shingle model name, but it's a different manufacturer completely. Florida State is unable to tell me what brand of shingle they actually installed. It could be Certainteed, it could be GAF, or something different. I tried to get a copy of my permits from Manatee County. A woman said in 5 to 7 days she would send a link. It never came. I called again and I was told to make a public records request. It is impossible to find the requests page. I still can't find it. You cant go and get the copies either. The request has to be done on the hidden request page. So, Florida State Roofing won't honor their contract and the warranty they sold me. Certainteed so far wont honor their warranty represented by Florida State Roofing in my contract. Certainteed was provide copies of the warranty information, the contractor certificate and a copy of the contract. It was emailed and texted to the local sales rep. He was supposed to respond to me by the weekend. Ive yet to hear from him. GAF requires proof that their shingles were installed on my house. I cant get the necessary information from Florida State Roofing or Manatee County. All this happened because Florida State Roofing provided a contract listing GAF shingles and a 30 year warranty, they also bogusly listed the warrenty terms of Certainteed Shingles and provided their warrenty sheet as proof. I paid extra for a warranty that no one will honor because Florida State Roofing won't honor their warranty to me and won't or can't provide the information I need to try and get a shingle company to help. People are desperate to get their roofs repaired. Let this be a warning. Be careful with both the contractor's warranty and materials warranty. It appears neither in my case is going to accept responsibility.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
